President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani chaired the National Procurement Commission (NPC) here on Sunday Evening, the presidential press office told The Kabul Times.
The session after detailed discussion approved 10 contracts worth 22.1 billion Afghanis which were included, procurement of fuel to PPS of the presidential palace, contract on procurement of steel to Kabul Municipality andcontract on training of the school instructors and medical staffs in the fields of consultancy, individual communications, behavior change based on true delivering of info related to Ministry of Public Health, the Arg press office added.
The session also approved contract on internet bandwidth related to Civil Aviation Authority, procurement of fuel to Administrative office of the president andcontract of 32 livelihood items related to Ministry of National Defense. Meanwhile the session rejected the contract on procurement of the livelihood to Administrative office of the president for fulfillment of the need standards.
The members of the commission also rejected the Ministry of Public works’ proposal on asphalting of the roads of Taliqan city, asking the ministry to resubmit the project through proper procurement process. Meanwhile NPC approved payment of overtime to Turkish company working on Shurabak electricity station related to Ministry of Energy and Water as well as the contract on detailed mapping of Musa Qala dam, Zamindawar canal and buildings for Helmand’s natural shallows related to Ministry of Agriculture. The session was attended by national and international observers, including the national assembly’s economic and budget commission, SIGAR and Resolute Support Mission’s CSTC-A.
