Loy Kandahar Elders Call On President Ghani

Elders, representatives and youths from Loy Kandahar met with Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and thanked him for marking the second death anniversary of Hashmat Khalil Karzai, the presidential press office said in a statement Tuesday.
Representing others, Senator Mohammad Hanif Hanafi, Dr. Zaher Shah Rashidi and Mohammad Daud Farhang spoke about the problems faced by the people in Kandahar, Zabul, Urozgan and Helmand provinces, said the statement.
Problems related to security, schools, mosques, power supply, land usurpation and other facilities and challenges were the main problems, they asked the president for paying attention in this field, said the statement.
The president, after hearing their problems said the Helmand Military Corps have been paid further attention and activated.
He asked the representatives for providing full reports about their problems to be discussed in the next meeting, according to the statement.
The president added controlling of the Helmand water was at the priorities and is expected to be practiced in the near future to irrigate the province lands and to be used by the people, themselves, the statement quoted.
“By completion of 18 megawatt power of Salma Dam, the people could use the facilities and by extension of the TAPI project, the Loy Kandahar related provinces would use energy,” said the president.
He called support from the international community the most important in the Brussels Summit and said all preparations have been taken for the conference, the statement quoted him, as saying.
